Been a while!

Hey guys

It's been a while since my last post so I'm here with an update.
Been a hard month. Well, that's a massive understatement but as a conflict of this my design work has kind of gone down the pan for the last month or two.
Think I'm managing to pull my head back around and I've got a damn few nice new things coming in. After two years of debating it I've finally got around to making a Graphic Novel. Let's just say that it's going to be a little controversial (well shit, I don't find it in the slightest!) and that quite a lot of people are going to be pissed off with it's contents. I love extra publicity I guess!

I really haven't done much in the way of design since my last post. As stated, I haven't had time at all. I am pleased to announce I've finally got around to making a Facebook page though (four years late!)

So we both know you didn't come here to read how I'm doing. Let's see if I can pull some pretty pictures for you to look at

aha. Here we go. I've done another few designs for THESOCKNATION. You'll have to imagine them on socks for now, just until they're printed.

Thanks for reading guys. Be sure to leave my page a like!

Couple of projects finished

Hey guys

So I've just finished up two new projects for THESOCKNATION and LANDSCAPES-DIRECT

The Sock Nation is an American company that specialise in custom sock designs (www.thesocknation.com)
Done three designs for the guys so far with more hopefully on their way. Here's a quick peek at one of the designs so far

Doesn't look like a sock design until it's placed on the actual sock, mind! Keep checking the website - it'll be up soon.

The second company is based in London that deals in mostly gardening tools and anything related to landscapes. They asked for a logo overhaul using a specific font they found. After acquiring the license for the font here is the end result:

All in all I really enjoyed both of these projects. Keep checking back to the blog, there should be some more design work for both companies in the near future. But I'll announce that later :).

Thanks for reading guys!

Update time

Hey guys, doing an update of what's going on in the design world.

So last post I mentioned the updated website and all the rest. I've been pretty busy since with quite a few posters and a lot of printing. I'll get to that in a second.

So I had a meeting with PINETREE, a company dedicated to business start-ups. And, the pretty awesome news is that they're personally helping me up with accountants, a business plan and funding!
It'll take maybe a month or two to roll out the paperwork and officially register my brand however I'll be able to get all the resources to finally fully complete it. Which is phenomenal! (also pretty handy since so far it's cost me a damned small fortune!

Hopefully will be showing updates as we go on that one. Paperwork isn't my forte but I'll get there.

Right, so on to some work that I've been doing.
Since I've had that ridiculously awesome printer delivered I've had a ton of printing jobs. Got a ton of empty cartridges for recycling which I'm going to assume is a good sign.
Here's a copy of my favorite ones so far.

Pretty happy with the outcomes - I had a very limited deadline so there's still a few modifications that I could make but the clients are happy so who am I (a ridiculous annoying personal critic) to judge?

Anyway, that's it for this time. Thanks for reading guys.

Website up! Update ensuing!

Hey guys! It's been far too long since I've had an update on here. Even using the pretty detailing of Helvetica!

Well, this will be my first actual blog on life on here. First of many to come.

So what's been happening with 'Yet another design blog'? I'll admit, I've neglected this blog for the past year and I've got a TON of work to submit on here including quite a few client projects. But I'll cover that in another session.

It's been a hard year, but I'm pretty damn proud to announce I've finally. FINALLY. started up my design business.

It's taken me a long time to finally get to the point where I feel I'm in the right place to start really broadcasting my design work. To the point I've taken this from a hobby to in the near future (the next week in fact!) my career.

Website is still under construction and there's a few bugs in the coding that need ironing out but it should be completely up and running soon. Once it's ready for SEO publishing I'll be giving out an update on here.

I'm damn excited for this to come around though. I'm currently working on the store section of the site which is a -major- pain mostly due to needing prototypes in that department. Having to buy wholesale tees on top of all the printing equipment and paper (man, the amount of paper I've got is unreal and I'm still not happy with it all) is pretty costly.

However, should hopefully have a nice surprise come Friday afternoon if all goes well. But lets keep that on the DL for now.

Anyway, just a quick update. If all things go to plan in the next week I'll be renovating the blog completely and updates will be on a very frequent basis.

But yeah, check out the website and feedback is allllllllllways appreciated
Thanks for reading guys, and thanks for the support!

Orwell's 1984 book cover

Update #2 of the day actually came around! Got insanely bored so here we go.
Saw that my portfolio was severrely lacking a book cover and literally every graphic designer has a book cover in their portfolio so I'm joining the crowd. Huzzah.
I only did the front cover as I didn't want to invest -too much- time into it when I've still got a boat load of work to do.

I've uploaded two variations, one with a drop shadow, one without. I like them both (especially how irregular the drop shadow affects the tree. Too much copy and pasting!) but prefer it without the drop shadow. The concept was to, following the outline of the book, illustrate how an organism could essentially brainwash the world. And I certainly couldn't just draw a bunch of ants.. So you have a tree!

Anyway, I need a break now!

New T-shirt design

Got one more design today, hoping to bash another out by the end of the day but got a serious case of man flu going on and getting stressed at 100mb PSD files really can't be helping. Anyway on to it. Pretty basic design using a few layer manipulations and custom brushes.
Got the design first alongside how it looks on the shirts themselves, both loose sweat shirts. Following the trend of the hipster. /sigh
